VTT G90/G99 M5 Complete Turbo-Side Intake System

VTT is proud to announce the first and only intake system for the G90/G99 M5 that eliminates every factory restriction from turbo to filter. Other “intake kits” on the market only replace the upper half of the system — leaving the restrictive factory turbo inlet piping in place. That is the actual primary airflow choke point… meaning those kits only solve half the problem.

Our system removes the entire factory tract and replaces it with precision-engineered billet 6061-T6 adapters that bolt directly to the turbochargers, transitioning into reinforced 2.5” → 4” high-temp silicone and finishing with dual VTT 4” dry element filters.

This is a true full-flow system — no factory bottlenecks — the S68 finally breathes correctly.

Engineering Note — Why This Matters

On the S68 platform, the primary airflow restriction is not the upper airbox half — it is the molded plastic turbo-side pipe. That pipe drastically necks down right where airflow demand is highest, causing pressure drop before the compressor even sees volume. Every other intake kit on the market keeps that pipe in place — meaning the core restriction remains.

By replacing the turbo-side connection entirely with billet adapters and a true 2.5” → 4” transition, this system eliminates that choke point. The compressor sees cleaner mass airflow, reduced inlet depression, and improved spool response under transient load. That is where actual performance intake gains occur — not just sound.

Compatibility & Tuning Summary

This intake system is fully compatible with factory tuning. No calibration changes are required for installation, and the vehicle will operate normally on stock ECU logic.

However — this intake offers even greater benefit on tuned vehicles. As airflow demand increases, the factory plastic turbo-side restrictions compound significantly. With increased boost targets, ethanol blends, upgraded downpipes, or larger turbos, the inlet side becomes increasingly critical. Removing every bottleneck on the front side of the compressor ensures the turbo is not fighting negative pressure or unnecessary inlet restriction under load.

Stock cars benefit from sound, responsiveness, and future headroom. Tuned cars maximize the system’s full efficiency advantage.

Dyno Result Expectation

Intake systems do not create horsepower by themselves — they remove restriction so the engine and turbos can achieve their intended airflow with less effort. Gains will vary based on tuning, fuel, ambient conditions, and supporting modifications.

On a stock calibration, expect improved response and induction sound, with incremental power gains primarily at higher airflow demand. On tuned vehicles, especially where boost targets and airflow are increased, removing the factory inlet restriction allows the S68 to reach power more efficiently and consistently.

Real benefit comes from unlocking airflow headroom — not inflated dyno marketing numbers.
